Abercrombie often comes up in convo within my friend circle, where most of us “elder” millennials are a little surprised by (and slightly embarrassed to admit) how much we enjoy shopping there again. At a time when many brands are reducing their petite size offerings, I appreciate that A&F has been offering more sizes and lengths than ever!
This year I’ll be partnering with them regularly on Instagram, and since I’ll get to try on new arrivals each season, I plan on blogging non-sponsored, more detailed reviews on here for any noteworthy finds.
Right now from 1/13 – 1/16, they’re running a huge promo with 20% off site wide, 40% off their YPB workout collection (sizing starts in xxs Short), plus free shipping & returns on any YPB order. On top of this, I was able to get code AFJEAN which stacks for extra 20% off sitewide (a few exclusions apply)! Some items to check out:
Sloane pants + blazer
If you’ve been interested in trying these or looking to pick up a new color, these are some of the lowest prices I’ve seen after my stackable 20% off code. The tailored pants come in Short, Regular, Tall (older version) and the blazer comes in coordinating colors.
If you need a blazer in petite sizing, this is one of the best options out there under $100. The fabric is not J.Crew blazer quality but is good for the sale price. It’s fully lined with a semi relaxed fit, and goes with workwear and also jeans (like the pair mentioned below). See the xxs petite on me.
YPB 7/8 Leggings + Top
This is my first time trying YPB and I’m impressed by how petite-friendly the fit is and just how many color options there are with coordinating tops! With the stackable code, a full set comes out to around just $50 with free ship.
I’d say the leggings fit true to size – I tried on both xxs and xs and found the latter size to be most comfortable for light workouts and lounging. I’m currently between sizes about 100lb, 5’ tall with more of my weight around my midsection, so the xxs resulted in a little muffin top on me. The short length is perfect, and as a mom of 2, I love that the rise is high enough to cover my stretch marks.
I went with this solid colored top and appreciate how it’s a little cropped but still provides good torso coverage to show just a sliver of skin. The sweetheart neckline shape is flattering and there’s lightly padded removable cups inside. I would also stay TTS for this.
Sherpa Pullover
If you like the popular lululemon scuba half zip sweatshirt, I’ve been loving A+F half zip pullovers as both petite-friendly and budget-friendly alternatives. I LOVE the pullover sweatshirt I wear often (see pic at bottom of this post), and the sherpa ones are cozy textured alternatives with a cinchable drawstring bottom. The length on these are slightly cropped on me, so if you’re much taller then they might be pretty short.
Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jean
These are one of my most favorite recent finds that you guys will be seeing a LOT of in upcoming posts! It’s surprisingly hard to find classic high rise straight jeans with a finished hem (not raw cut) and no rips, that fit well on shorties without alterations. I’m 5′ tall and the Short is slightly cropped on me, so the Extra Short would’ve been like crops and probably best for someone under 4’11.” See them on me here in Medium with high top Converse sneakers.
These are more of a rigid / lower stretch denim fabric similar to Levi’s and Madewell jeans. These are a little slimmer in the leg and shorter than my Everlane Cheeky jeans, which makes them easier to wear and style for those trying to branch out from skinny jeans.
I believe these fit TTS at the waist – I’m usually between 24 and 25 in Abercrombie denim, and took 24 here for a snug but still comfy fit. I definitely will be air drying these instead of machine drying, which usually causes all my denim to shrink a bit.
Lastly, here is a snap of the aforementioned half zip pullover that I’ve been wearing endlessly with jeans and leggings and joggers, like these old Lululemon align comfies.
