Ann Taylor Spring Picks // 1 Suit, 4 Ways

I worked with Ann Taylor for an Instagram video and got to pick out a few spring arrivals to try on and style. Below are my fit reviews of some items I either own or tried on and would recommend:

1. Crepe Blazer

Also comes in classic black. The clean, collarless cut combined with the high quality “fluid crepe” fabric makes this feel comparable to my Theory pieces. It has several coordinating separates (skirt, crop pants, dress) and also looks very sharp paired with this black mockneck top, as seen in my video. Ann Taylor sizing for me has always run a little bigger than brands like A&F, and this is a looser fit on me and I’d wear it with the sleeves pushed up.

When worn together with the matching trousers it’s a fresh and stunning suit, but I do want to note the trousers run big at the waist for me. Size 00 petite measures 13.25″ across the waist with a 10″ rise and 29″ inseam. The pant are fully lined in a light beige fabric and I didn’t have any sheerness issues.

2. Tipped Cardigan (3 colorways)

This is one of my favorites from their Spring collection, and can be worn for work and casually with jeans or shorts. I actually adore all 3 color combos and really contemplated going colorful with the fuchsia or emerald green, but in the end went with my “safe” neutral combo of navy + tan. Strangely I don’t see them anymore, but prior to ordering I read a number of 5 star customer reviews on this cardigan in the other colorways.

3. Ruffle Blouse

Comes in several more colors in a mid length sleeve with great reviews! This feminine blouse caught my eye as soon as it came out, especially as I’ve been getting more requests to share blue colored finds that are flattering on skin tones that’d get washed out by beiges and camels. I often recommend Ann Taylor poly blouses because they are machine washable, low maintenance, and last for years and years in my wardrobe. I recently took this on a trip and wore it with a colorful tweed skirt, and loved that it stayed wrinkle free and took up nearly no space in my suitcase.

4. Staple Layering Tops

A few more versatile layering staples I own for wearing alone, or under a blazer or cardigan:

• Refined stretch mockneck top (3 colors). LOVE! See this on me in black below. I’m a huge fan of this one and would love it in the blue as well – the cut is simple yet elegant, and you can easily wear this with a slip skirt or jeans on the weekend. The refined stretch material is comfortable and lightweight with a dressier smooth finish.
• Mockneck sweater shell (6 colors). You can see this below paired with the cream suit. Another great layering piece in a sweater knit fabric. I love that both this and the first top above have just a tiny, mini mock neckline which looks really timeless and doesn’t create any bulk at your neck. Also seen on me with cream jeans and an oversized trench.
• Mixed jersey tank (4 colors). I’ve had mine for years and it’s still one of the best layering shells that I continue to reach for. The first two tops above fit closer to the body, while this tank has a slightly looser, more forgiving fit.

This tweed skirt with the fringe pockets is fully lined, but it runs at least 1 size big and fits pretty loose on me. The 00P measures 13″ across the waist, 17.5″ at the hips and has a length of 18″.

And styled with other work pants:
