Ann Taylor Spring Try Ons

Happy weekend! Ann Taylor has some lovely new arrivals for spring, so I wanted to share a few I picked out to try on. You can also see my AT reviews last month with different ways to style a gorgeous cream crepe pant (runs big) + blazer set.

1. Lapel Flare Dress

This is my favorite pick amongst all the try-ons in this post. The lapel, belt, and small (yet conservative) slit make this LBD a little more interesting. Fit is TTS and flattering, and the material is nicer than I expected! It’s a substantial weight, wrinkle-resistant fabric that looks and feels business professional quality. The dress comes with the belt in the same fabric, or you can swap in your own belt for more contrast. If you click on over to the regular sizing tab you can see another 5-star customer review.

2. Fuchsia Pants

I was so bummed that I had to part with an old favorite pair of fuchsia pants that no longer fit, and have been on the lookout for a replacement ever since! The color on these pants are perfectly vibrant and the length works on me with flats as a cropped pant. I wore these last weekend for Easter paired with a pink blouse for a monochrome look. Typical of AT bottoms, the waist runs a little big.

Size 00 petite measures 12.8″ across the waist with a 10″ rise and 22.5″ inseam.

Quick note on this top – the halter bow can be tied both in the back and the front. The material is on the thinner side.

3. Crepe Trousers

These are the same pants that I featured in cream previously – as mentioned last month, I really like the elevated crepe fabric quality and the cut is classic and elongating. Also as mentioned last month, the waist runs pretty big (about 1-2 sizes bigger than brands like A&F) and unfortunately requires alterations on me. Size 00 petite measures: 13.25″ across the waist with a 10″ rise and 29″ inseam.

I also wanted to mention this dress which has a very similar silhouette like the black dress in #1, however the linen-blend fabric is wrinkle prone and non stretch. I personally much preferred the fabric on the black version.

ann taylor spring midi skirt

I was drawn to the bold colors and midi length with side slits on this one. While the elastic waistband was comfortable, the hips were much too roomy on me and would work better for someone with curvier hips. The xxs petite measures: 12.75” across waist (backside of waist is elastic), 18” across hips, 28” length. Skirt is fully lined and lightweight.

    Hi Jean!
I actually like the linen dress the best – it looks way better on you than the AT model! Too bad the fabric isn’t great – I got a pair of pants a while back that were virtually unwearable because they were pencil fitted but had no stretch! Not cool AT! About the Azra’s…..are you wearing the new updated ones? They don’t fit me as well either, can’t keep my heel from sliding out since they seem to have recut the upper, making them fit bigger. Argh!! I really love that fuscia top on you as well, that is so lovely! Keep up the great work!

Hi April, you’re too kind! I agree it’s so hard to gauge fabrics when ordering online and sometimes it’s quite the surprise. I’m wearing the old Azras, I’m sorry to hear about the uppers of the updated ones and wish they would bring back the originals!
