I’m partnering with Banana Republic on their “Bring your own sunshine” campaign, which could not feel more relevant for these unprecedented few months. Putting on a feel-good ensemble and getting out the door for our family walks have been my simple sources of sunshine and the highlights of each week!
I ordered this dress after reading the positive reviews, and the print and detailing are prettier in person than pictured. The outer fabric is floaty and lightweight with a full lightweight lining, and the feminine ruched shoulders and sleeves give it a little structure. The waist is surplice style with a stretchy elastic band, making this comfortable for all day wear and bump friendly! Being in my late second trimester, I took 1 size up from my usual and would say this runs TTS.
A couple other items / collections to check out:
Excellent summer belt selection on sale including stretch & easily adjustable ones:
- Stretch woven raffia belt – a winner which I’m tempted to keep in both colors. The stretch aspect is unique, making the fit quite comfortable and non restrictive, and the fact that it’s woven with a sliding buckle means you can adjust this to fit and don’t need precise belt hole sizes! I like that the wider 1.25″ width makes more of a statement, but they also make a narrower 0.75″ stretch woven belt too.
- Braided leather belt – been looking for a wider cream woven belt for summer outfits and this one fit the bill (1.4″ wide). Because it’s woven, you can insert the prong anywhere for the right fit. With any extra tail length, I just tuck it in around the side / back under the belt strap.
BR shoe event – Big sale on all their shoes, with up to 60% or more. Some picks in smaller sizes include their Madison heels which I own and find pretty comfortable, these bronze metallic minimalist heeled sandals under $50, vegan flat strappy sandals for $35.
I also tried a few pieces from BR’s sustainable ECOVERO collection – according to the description, these are made of “a breathable fiber derived from certified renewable wood sources, produced using methods that reduce water impact and emissions by up to 50% compared to traditional viscose.” Here are a few picks from my try ons:
Floral midi skirt – most of the reviews say this runs small at the waist (waist does not stretch FYI), so great news for petite ladies who have trouble finding skirts narrow enough. The material drapes nicely and feels cool against the skin for summer. Pair this simply with a white camisole or top, the floral wrap top in the same print for a “coordinates” look, or the vibrant button back tank below for a punch of color! Note only the ikat blue print is lined while the other prints are unlined.
Floral wrap top (bump friendly) – same fabric and prints as the above, in a flattering true wrap style that makes this adjustable and bump friendly. All of the prints appear to be unlined. The blue ikat is my favorite and can be paired with white cropped wide legged trousers, navy ankle pants, and either over or tucked into a pleated skirt, just to name a few ideas! This was a keep for me and I’ll show how I’ve been styling it soon.
Button-back tank – Including this one only for the chartreuse color on extra sale, which is one of my favorites and harder to find in petite friendly cuts. This is a lightweight and unlined top in a slightly cropped length, and you do need to steam it out of the package.
Thank you to Banana Republic for partnering on this post.
