50% off Finds: Ruched Sleeve Sweatshirt + Coated Jeans

This has certainly been the year of comfort dressing, but with comfort basics I still love looking for polished details like ruched sleeves on a sweatshirt or a coated finish on jeans. Ruched Sleeve Sweater in 5 colors, xxs – xl
I’ve gone on a few walks around the neighborhood in this top and it’s been a compliment magnet! A great piece for when you want the comfort of a sweatshirt but a slightly elevated look. I’d stick to your usual size, otherwise the puff shoulders may be too voluminous. I’ve been sizing up in most clothes postpartum, but with a strong shoulder silhouette, I took xxs for the best fit.

Coated Skinny Jeans in Short, Regular, Long and Petite 00 – 18
Since I always get questions on this, the difference between Short and Petite lengths in my experience at Express is that the Short is the shortest inseam option – usually ~ 1 inch shorter than the Petite. These have just a light coating to give them a slight leather-like look as a twist on your basic black jeans. The Short inseam is a perfect ankle length on me (5 feet tall) with no hemming needed!

True to the style name, note these jeans have a “super high rise” which I personally like (helps hold in my midsection after having 2 kids!), but if you’re petite or have a shorter torso, you might prefer a regular high rise instead of super high (i.e. these similar grey coated skinny jeans or these comfort knit black skinny jeans).

Measurements: Size 0 Short has a 11.5″ high rise and 25″ inseam.

Mockneck Dolman Sweater in 4 colors, xxs – xl
I’ve shared this sweater a few times this season and it’s worth mentioning again at this sale price! If you’re a fellow fan of slouchy sweaters with dolman sleeves, this one is a fantastic value. It’s warm (medium weight), soft and smooth to the touch and doesn’t shed. Both XXS and XS work on me but I sized up to an XS for a slightly more oversized look. I have the neck tucked in a bit in the photo above, but you can see the full mockneck in this post.

Faux Leather Leggings in Regular or Petite xxs – xl
Another piece I’ve mentioned before, these are one of Express’ Black Friday doorbusters on sale for $20! Faux leather leggings have become my go-to piece when running out the door and wanting to look a little more “styled.” You can read my review of them in this post, along with measurements and how they compare to my other pair. If you’re in between sizes, I’d size down on faux leather leggings since they usually look best snug.

Another sale piece I’d recommend is this (nursing friendly & bump friendly) knit wrap top dress in a super flattering silhouette, as shown in this blog post. Just note the dress and sleeve length fit a little long on me since they don’t have petite sizing!
