I wanted to do another shoe swap series featuring comfy workwear pieces like these pull-on pants! The stretch material and elastic waist make these great for either casual or work wear, and the length works even on my 5′ tall frame for pairing with both flats and heels. Note that LOFT pants run a little big and these are relaxed fit through the legs, not slim. They’re having a big sale on everything – see all petites here!
1. With sneakers:
What I’m actually wearing on a day-to-day basis, for daycare drop off and pickups, grocery runs and other errands! My Everlane sneakers have proven to be an extra versatile favorite since this review post a while back. The off white color goes with everything, and the retro-inspired cut works so much better with dresses, jeans and ankle pants than regular athletic style sneakers. I checked out these Madewell ones in person and they are super similar with a versatile off-white color.
One of my fall staples for the past two years is this Everlane alpaca sweater, but I completely forgot how it was itchy upon arrival…so much that I almost returned it right away when I first got it! It definitely softens up after a few wears, to the point that I completely forgot how it feels out of the package until I ordered a second one recently in the new camel brown color. I love the oversized but not overwhelming cut and how light and airy it is, so if you don’t mind a little itch in the beginning (wear it over a tee) it was worth it for me! The almond color is a pretty cream with a hint of taupe. Quince makes a very similar one for less that has a fluffier finish.
2. With pumps:
For business casual outfits, a meeting or presentation, I added a printed topcoat and sleek V-cut pumps to polish up the look! I reached out to Sarah Flint to try out their perfect pumps and they are beautifully handcrafted inside and out. They come in different heights, and as you can see in the first photo above, they have unique cushioning at the arches for extra support.
You can use code SARAHFLINT-JEAN50 for $50 off any full price shoe on a first time purchase.
3. With flats:
For a comfortable but still polished outfit (i.e. for teachers who have to be on their feet most of the day!), or if you have a commute involving walking or public transit, I’d swap in flats like my knit Rothy’s flats with a little print for interest. See my review on the many Rothy’s styles!
