We spent the vast majority of this week vegging out in pajamas and fuzzy slippers (nothing better!), but cleaned up a bit to join both of our families for Christmas Eve service. Just as we were leaving the house, it started to snow big, fluffy flakes, which gave Nori, Nick and his San Diego-based family a taste of their very first white Christmas (even if it was only momentary before turning into rain)! Thanks to Nori’s “Instagrampa” who always has a camera on him, and insisted on capturing the moment for us.
Since both sides of our families were visiting, we rented a bigger space in the Boston area. I got so many requests on Instagram for the airbnb listing! And if you’re new to airbnb, here’s my referral link for $40 off a booking. The owner said they haven’t updated the calendar for 2019 yet, but if you’re planning a visit to Boston, you could bookmark the listing and check back later. This home was a 4-bedroom unit inside a multi-family building in Brookline, MA, and had a subway station steps away so you could get to downtown Boston in ~15 – 20 minutes. It was kid friendly with a playhouse and rock climbing wall (see pics below), had a well stocked kitchen for cooking (and several restaurants within walking distance), but my favorite feature had to be the spa-like steam shower!
I’ve had this midi skirt for a while (it’s currently on extra sale + available in many colors) and like how it’s easy to pair with either tights or bare legs. It’s made of a weightier fabric in a very swingy circle cut, with a lining, elastic-backed waist (for a touch of stretch), and pockets! See it styled for a more office-friendly look here or paired with the same top but more Parisian flair here. Note the XXS sizing in this runs very narrow across the waist (fits 22 to 24″ waists) and is below the knees on someone my height. Instead of getting it hemmed, I’ve been wearing it lazily with the waistband folded over once.
My plaid scarf is also on super sale, and was last featured on here as a cape! I packed this to cozy up in on the couch while watching holiday movies, and it folds up to double as a regular scarf.
