It’s been quite a week, friends – thank you to those of you who were part of the convo here and here on a topic that hits close to home for many of us in the AAPI community. I want to continue using this space to spread awareness and amplify others’ voices, while still sharing the little everyday things that inspire and bring me joy.
With the weather starting to perk up, I’ve been loving my usual soft neutrals again after a season of dark colors and combat boots! This fresh take on faux leather pants was love at first try-on for me. My full outfit is on sale as part of Ann Taylor’s 40% off promo right now, amongst a few other picks!
1. Faux leather ankle pants
One of my favorite AT finds from their recent collections – these are such a stylish alternative to regular faux leather leggings. They pair easily with flat sandals, heels or sneakers, and help me feel chic as a busy mama of 2 while being comfortable. I’d also wear it with a simple black turtleneck or something like this flutter sleeve black tee!
Fit: These have a fairly straight, slightly tapered ankle length leg with a durable, wide elastic waistband and comfy pockets. The material has weight to it and is not thin. My usual petite xxs at AT is a comfortable fit on me at ~5 feet 97lb.
This is another faux leather pant I was eyeing for the rich camel color, but the full length may be best suited for someone an inch or two taller than me unless you get them hemmed!
2. Mixed jersey tank
First got one of these a few years ago! Looks basic in photos but I LOVE it as a layering staple under blazers, cardigans or worn alone with shorts & pants. The sleeveless top is made of a stretchy, comfy jersey knit but has an additional top layer in the front only that’s drapey to the touch.
Fit: TTS. the cut is more body skimming and not fitted.
3. Paperbag belted shorts
Classic high rise belted shorts in 3 neutral colors. Fit is TTS and I love how elongating these are due to the rise and slightly flowy cut of the shorts!
4. Azra pumps
Hands down my favorite classic suede pump under $100 with a flattering, sculpted silhouette. I’ve accumulated a few colors over the years – see the Black on me here and Posh Camel here. I have on an old color in this. posts.
5. Tweedy sweater jacket $49 (originally $130)
This is a fun, thick and fluffy textured knit sweater jacket with a little Chanel-esque vibe. Fit is TTS and the sleeves are actually nice and slim on me, with stretch.
Thank you to Ann Taylor for partnering on this post!
