lululemon Reviews: 5 Petite-Friendly Finds

It’s been a very long time since my last lululemon review, as I’ve kept mostly the same pieces on rotation over the past few years. When Nick was restocking on his holy grail everyday pants and golf shirts, I also tried on a bunch of styles and wanted to share the more petite-friendly finds. For reference, I’m usually a 00 / xxs / 25 waist in regular women’s fashion brands, and I wear a size 2 in lululemon for everything listed below.

1. Brushed Softstreme Ribbed Half Zip (5 colors)

Their Scuba half zip is a cult fave, and personally I do like the oversized fit of the size XS/S (smallest size available) and the weightier scuba fabric.

As an alternative, if you’re looking for a half-zip pullover that’s a little less oversized and lighter in weight, check out their Softstreme Ribbed Half Zip. The broader range of sizes allows for a better fit, and the soft fabric is medium weight with panels of ribbed texture. The shorter length is petite-friendly, and there’s a drawstring at the waist if you want to cinch it in. Personally I also find the roomy kangaroo pocket with a little hidden sleeve for my credit card or keys quite useful.

2. Adapted State High-Rise Cropped Jogger (6 colors; 2 inseams)

Available in 23″ and 28″ inseams, with a 10″ rise on my size 2 pair. The shorter inseam is very petite friendly, and these would work well from going from gym to errands to travel. Size-wise, I could potentially size down to a 0. The 2 is comfortable on me, but a little roomy in the thighs so I do wonder how the 0 would fit.

The dark navy makes details hard to see, but there’s a high rise and wide waistband which I’m a fan of. They have zippered pockets for keeping things secure while you’re working out, and also zippers at the pant cuffs.The material has an athletic-style fabric finish, and is lightweight and breathable.

I want to note that even though these jogger pants and the leggings below have the same inseam measurement of 23,” the jogger pants will appear noticeably shorter when worn compared to leggings, due to gathering at the jogger ankle opening.

I’m undecided on whether to keep this sweatshirt in the green color, but just wanted to show how it coordinates for those who like matching sets. I think this color top works with either their Medium Forest or Dark Forest bottoms for just slight contrast.

3. Wunder Train High Rise Crop Leggings (8 colors; 3 inseams)

Available in 23″, 25″ and 28″ inseams, with a 9″ rise on my size 2 pair. I’m 5 feet tall and the 23″ inseam works well, hitting below my ankles. I love the pocket versions which have pretty deep and secure pockets on the side to hold my phone. The fabric on the Wunder Train has slightly more support than Align leggings for working out.

4. Soft Jersey Mid Rise 7/8 Length Jogger

Not pictured, but I wanted to mention this as another petite-friendly bottom that fits full length on me. This one is more for loungewear rather than activewear. In contrast to the Adapted State HR Jogger reviewed above, these are longer and made of a very soft, lightweight jersey fabric rather than an athletic material. I’ve tried these joggers on only in Bone (cream), and didn’t love the light color on a thinner fabric. The fit and length were good for petites, though, so I may give them another try down the road in a darker color.

Size 2 measures: 9.75″ rise, 25″ inseam, 12.5″ across the elastic drawstring waist when lying flat.

5. Always Effortless Jacket (3 colors)

This jacket is worth mentioning again since it’s held up well through wash and wear, ever since the photo below posted several years ago. The shorter length is petite-friendly, and you can wear it either with the drawstring cinched in a bit at the waist, or open for a more A-line cut. It’s water repellant in light rain, the hood stows away, and again I’m all about the zippered pockets for my phone and keys. Size-wise, the sleeves are a little long on me but I stayed with my size 2 for a relaxed fit.
