I recently partnered with Madewell for an Instagram project, and wanted to share a deeper review over here on some Fall finds! They’re running a promo with 25% off tops and an extra 40% off sale items with code FALLIN (ends 10/24), including on my Perfect Vintage jeans which are now under $60 after discounts.
Easygoing Crepe Blazer
Such a good value for a navy or brown boyfriend blazer, now just $50 after applying code FALLIN (retail $148). I’ve been eying this for a while and was hesitant due to final sale. Like most Madewell jackets, this is a relaxed fit and straight cut down the sides -not fitted- and I found it overall to be petite friendly and nice quality.
The fabric is a smooth medium weight crepe that can toggle between dressier workwear to weekend casual outfits, and it doesn’t seem to wrinkle easily. I have on the XXS for a relaxed fit, and even the sleeves work decently on me despite being in regular sizing.
Mockneck crop sweater
This is nice Fall basic, made of a wool cotton blend that I did not find to be itchy. It’s listed as a crop sweater, which for petites is a nice regular length that’s easy to half tuck into jeans or pants. The mockneck is comfortable, not too high or snug around the neck. I was quickly drawn to the “rosehip” color which is a medium brown with a very slight hint of burgundy-toned marled yarns.
Perfect Vintage Jeans
Available in 3 inseams (petite, standard and tall). See all Perfect Vintage petite jeans here, several of which are on significant sale.
Been a longtime fan of the slim straight, slightly tapered cut of this denim line. I actually took a size 24 in their standard inseam because I like a pretty high rise, and their petite sizing rises are cut slightly lower. I usually need to shorten my Perfect Vintage jeans a bit anyways, even in the petite sizing, so I opted for my preferred higher rise. My natural waist measures 25″ and the size 24 Standard in Kepler fits me well aside from length, and from the reviews it seems Petite might run a tad smaller.
In the photos here I folded the extra length under using my favorite DIY no sew hem trick and am debating whether to cut them shorter permanently.
Mini Bucket Tote
I’m big on navy as my new neutral this year, and am also loving the return of classic buckle style bags. This one is nice quality in a rich navy suede, however I was surprised by how super long the strap is for my frame – maybe because the tote is designed to be worn crossbody? If you want to wear it on the shoulder like I am in these photos, you need to cut the end of the strap shorter so there won’t be a long strap tail hanging.
This is another sweater I tried on that was petite friendly with a nice cable detailing. The torso length is notably shorter than the Mockneck Crop Sweater I have on above in brown, and hits closer to the waistline of my high rise bottoms.
love the brown and blue tones together! so pretty
Thank you! I’ve been loving this color combo for fall
