Classic Camel Blazer from Work to Weekend

Express petite leather pants camel blazer fall outfit

While I love a camel blazer year round, it feels especially appropriate for fall fashion and is one of my closet staples for throwing on with jeans, workwear and even for going out with some faux leather. This blazer is one of Express’s classic offerings that’s almost always sold out in petites, so I was surprised to see both colors currently stocked in petite XS – XXL, and on sale! You can also see these looks in my IG reel.

Faux Leather Ankle Pants

In black, butterscotch and deep purple

These are the same cut as the ankle pants I’ve been loving over the past 2 years (and pictured below in cream), now available in a soft and lightweight faux leather. If you’re not yet aboard the leather leggings train, these looser cut ankle pants can be a less intimidating and more forgiving way to try the trend! Throw on a simple black tank and a blazer for an elevated dinner or drinks look. I always get asked what the difference is at Express between Petite and Short so ordered both to try again in the same exact item, and the fit and lengths were the same! So I purchase their Short and Petite interchangeably, mostly depending on what is in stock. If you’re looking for faux leather shorts, they make this pair in a tailored cut and this pull on option with elastic waist.

These pants come in three deeper hues for fall outfits – while black is usually the safest option, the butterscotch color I’m trying on above is actually quite pretty and rich in person. Here’s how it looks with the contouring sweater tank I previously shared in this post, and I also wanted to show how these pants hit with sneakers versus heels on.

Open Front Boyfriend Blazer

I’ve stalked this blazer in “butterscotch” for a few months and never saw xxsp in stock, so got the xs petite and it’s a comfortable fit with room for me to layer a long sleeve top under. I do think it is TTS so would recommend sticking with your usual size. This color is the perfect medium camel and very versatile for pairing with various denim white, black or blue for my everyday smart casual outfits.

The material is a smooth woven fabric with stretch, comfortable yet polished for wearing at home and throwing on over a tee or tank for zoom calls. The cut is nicely tailored to nip in at the waist with sleeves that are not too baggy. As you can see below, even the XS petite fits well on me in total length and sleeve length.

Gorgeous and inspiring as always! Have you tried the Express double breasted novelty blazer? Wondering how big the xxs runs (no petite in dachshund colour).

Thank you, Andrea! Sorry I haven’t tried this style before! But I usually stick to petite in their blazer sizing if possible
