I wanted to revisit a few pieces I bought earlier this year that have really proven themselves as staples or have just been bringing me joy! The white jeans below fit me like a glove without any adjustments needed, and both styles of shoes on my list have been on heavy rotation and really go with everything.
1. Sam Edelman flat sandals
One of my best (and practical) purchases of the year. These barely have signs of wear so far despite very regular use! Nordstrom has these in a rainbow of colors and neutrals and I love how sleek they are and easy to slip on / off. See my review here paired with a midi dress, and you can also see these sandals styled here with linen pants, here with a little black dress, and here with white shorts. FYI – if interested in the almond color that I have and your size appears sold out, make sure to scroll to the bottom of all the size choices since the almond color sizes are listed at the very end!
2. Topshop petite straight white jeans (also in regular length)
The white version of one of my all-time favorite jeans! These are a substantial weight with no see-through issues, and flattering on me all around with no waist gap. I have to disagree with the 1 reviewer but will say Topshop sizing does run small. I always go 1 size up at the waist in Topshop denim, and their Petite denim runs short. As mentioned before, I usually recommend their Petite jeans for those 5’1″ or under. I sometimes get their standard length jeans instead and then cut to my desired length (see my denim cutting tips).
This one’s a little confusing since it doesn’t say “Petite” anywhere on the website, but with Topshop jeans you can tell by the second number in the sizing. Anything that ends in “x 28” means a shorter Petite length, and x 30 or 32 are standard lengths. The number doesn’t actually equate to the inseam measurement, it just indicates whether it’s a Petite or Standard length. My size 25 x 28 length pair of these white jeans measures 23″ at the inseam with a 9.75″ rise.
3. Reformation top + skirt set
This is a flattering little set in a material that feels like jersey knit. The top is cropped and can be paired with any high rise bottom or a summer skirt. The skirt has a half wrap that ties on the side and can be worn with any cami and also works as a swim coverup! Being petite I’m also able to wear the 2 pieces together as a “dress” with the skirt pulled up higher on my waist so that no skin shows in between. Sizing feels TTS for the brand, which in general runs a little smaller than other brands in my experience. Here’s a few other gorgeous Reformation pieces at Nordstrom with adjustable features -like tie shoulders- for a better fit:
4. ASTR ruched top
I mentioned this one in a recent post as having Reformation-esque vibes and is a great little top for pairing with jeans and shorts. You can see the white color on me below, and the same top also comes in a feminine small floral print!
5. Steve Madden strappy sandals
A solid minimal staple shoe that I ended up buying earlier this year in both tan and black. I did have to try on two sizes to find the best fit – I’m usually between 5 and 5.5 in most shoes, and I took a 5.5 in these for more room across the front strap.
Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
