Baby Finds
Ever since I started browsing Etsy years ago for various goodies (like handmade jewelry!), I was sucked in. So now of course I am deep in the black hole of adorable baby stuff. I’ll do some reviews on my favorite Etsy sellers once I get to try the items out! I also found a few cute, affordable pieces on Amazon, but quality from different vendors has been very hit or miss so I’m thankful for free returns under Prime. FYI, the knit romper above only starts in size 6 months & up so I’m saving it for later!
I’ve also gotten a lot of requests to share what’s in my hospital bag – my procrastinator self is doing some last-minute packing this week, but I’ll be sure to do a blog post soon!
Ann Taylor Sale Alert
Ann Taylor is finally having a 40% off everything sale online – use code HELLONEW. I’ve been waiting for a good sale to share some new arrivals reminiscent of old favorites in my closet!
1. Suede Bow Pumps (3 colors) – Bow pumps are back, in Fall-ready colors like navy and burgundy, and a front and center bow (vs. off-center last year)! This design also comes in flats with great reviews.
2. Contrast Trim Textured Open Jacket – See the prior year versions on me here (pictured above) and here. They’ve brought this Chanel-esque jacket back twice now and it always sells out! It’s more of a structured cardigan-style jacket and is usually unlined (this year’s description says just the sleeves are lined) and fits a little boxy, so size down if you want a more shrunken fit style jacket.
3. Navy Tweed Pocket Jacket – This is another classic-looking option that would be super easy to pair with navy ankle pants or a neutral skirt (plus the navy bow pumps in #1!). FYI this also appears to be more of a cardigan jacket and is unlined.
4. Tie Front Button Shell – AT’s machine-washable, polyester tops drape nicely and make for elegant layering pieces under jackets and blazers. This one combines nursing-friendly buttons with a feminine neck tie, in a pretty soft grey color!
5. Floral Lace Dress – The dress that my mom wore at my shower. She’s 5’2″ 105 lbs, wearing 0P here.
Flat Finds (on sale!)
I was never much of a flats girl, but circumstances have forced me to go on a serious search for comfy shoes that don’t sacrifice too much style! In addition to these popular cushioned Caslon sandals (runs wide) I’ve been wearing all summer, I’ve been rotating between these leopard sandals above and bow mules below, both of which are on sale right now and rather affordable!
SARTO by Franco Sarto Palomino Sandals (40% off) – Starts in sz 4! These are similar in cut to the Caslon sandals but have less cushioning in the footbed. They still are slightly cushioned though and I found them to be comfy with no breaking-in needed. The top strap of these have two notches so can be adjusted by one notch if you have narrower feet. I found the foot length to run a little short so took a 5.5 (I’m usually between 5 to 5.5 in most brands).
BP Maddy Bow Mules in “Blush” (under $30!) – These have been nothing short of a compliment magnet wherever I wear them … from my doctor to waxing lady to passersby on the street ; ) Note that these run a bit wide across the top opening, a problem that I have with most slip-on style shoes. I had some U-shaped back of heel shoe cushions lying around (they look like this), and stuck two of them to the underside of each mule upper to help fill in the gap and make the fit more secure. I also found the length of these to run slightly short, so took a sz 5.5.
This outfit is from an older blog post, but I mentioned recently on Instagram that this Uniqlo pleated skirt has been restocked in different colors! It’s made of a nice quality crepe material with a comfortable and stretchy elastic waistband, and is lined! It’s fully stocked right now in a similar off-white hue, along with a burgundy “wine” and navy option. Size XS will fit a 24 to 25″ waist. I sized up to S here for wearing in my second trimester.
See more photos of this skirt in this post, and also in this post paired with this chambray cropped top (one of my absolute favorite outfits). For cooler weather, I’d style it with a turtleneck top or thin sweater plus a moto or cropped jacket!
