Express tee xsp c/o (similar) + cropped blazer 00p c/o, Mansur Gavriel tote, Chanel bag
This outfit is a little different from what I usually gravitate towards, in terms of the slightly trendier silhouette and darker, moodier color scheme. I love how everything came together, though, in a look that still feels tailored and very much like my own style!
I’m partnering with Express petites today to share a few finds available in extended sizing like xxs / 00p (finally!), and are currently fully in stock! This might be my first time trying a peg leg-style trouser – it’s a cross between the slim ankle pants that I usually wear, and the baggy harem pants that I’ll reserve only for MC Hammer. When cut just subtlety loose in a “relaxed” fit, the result is a comfortable pair of soft pants that you’ll want to live in all day.
These drape pants are made in a stretchy, machine-washable jersey fabric that’s on the thinner side, and feels cool in the summer heat. They have an elasticized waistband that’s a touch loose on me, but as with many of my bottoms lately, a sash tie waist belt comes to the rescue. The length hits right by my ankles so won’t require hemming on fellow shorties, even with flats on (see the end of this post)! I also love how these pants are styled on the model, with a cropped black turtleneck and bomber jacket.
Measurements: xxs petite is 13″ across the waistband when un-stretched, with a 26″ inseam.
This is the same double ruffle tee that I purchased in white a while back and featured in this recent post. The frill sleeves add a hint of femininity, while the black color keeps it feeling edgy. Note I’m around 5′ tall and the top is the right length on me when untucked, so the petites might be a little short on taller ladies.
Below, I also wanted to show how this outfit works with low, casual slide sandals (similar) for an afternoon of walking around town. Nick kept complimenting this look, which tells me branching out once in a while is not a bad thing!
Thank you to Express for partnering on this post.
