After experimenting with different denim silhouettes lately, I almost forgot how amazing a good pair of skinnies feel! I love them simply with a draped top and waist belt, like in this look that I wore out to dinner. This chic blouse is a find from a new-to-me brand at Nordstrom, and is petite friendly with a cropped length and 3/4 sleeves. I’ve also worn it with these Levi’s shorts (runs small!) and wedges, and belted with my white Everlane shorts from here as a “romper”. The material feels like a cross between linen and crepe. It does require steaming and is a tad sheer (not bad compared to most white blouses) so wear a skin toned bra or lace bralette underneath.
best petite friendly skinny Jeans
In the realm of skinny jeans, Topshop Jamie jeans are still some of the best I’ve found, with a stretchy material that doesn’t sag over time, flattering high rise, and skinny fit down to the ankle opening. They also make VERY petite friendly options – the smallest size 24 x 28 should fit someone as short as 4’10” with a 23″ waist!
I size up at the waist, and sometimes get regular length like I did here since their petites runs short. For fit reference, I take size 24 in most denim, but wear 25 in Jamie jeans. And for those unfamiliar with Topshop denim, the second number indicates petite, regular, or tall – 28 is petite, 30 is regular, and 32 is tall. Here are a few classic styles still available in small sizes:
- Washed Black – available in Petite and Regular. Wash is like mine but with no distressing.
- Indigo (30% off!) – available in Petite and Regular
- White – available in Regular (I have the ripped version and the denim is sturdy & not see through)
- Solid Black – available in Petite and Regular
- Medium blue – available in Petite only
leg lengthening PVC Pumps
I’ve shown several Gianvito Rossi Plexi pump look for less styles before, but after trying these Tony Bianco ones they are the best yet. I was skeptical since they’re pricey for a brand I’m not familiar with, but they are well made and comfortable at first try. They have leather uppers but manmade inner lining and soles (with a little traction pad), compared to leather lining and soles on the GV. I ordered the 5.5 nude in the Tony Bianco pumps and plan on returning for size 5 in black (I’m typically in between 5 and 5.5 for most brands). The nude turned out to be an exact match for my skin tone and would look better on someone with a little more contrast.
Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
