I’ve been building out my silky scarf collection as a way to add print and pops of color to my mostly neutral, solid wardrobe. If you’re worried about looking like a flight attendant with one of these around your neck, an alternative easy use is to dress up a purse handle! The scarf can protect delicate leather handles from your natural skin oils and lotions, and also change up the look of the bag to coordinate with different outfits.
Top: Hermes Kelly bag (shop preowned) + Twilly scarf

Bottom: Longchamp bag + $14 silk scarf
This is common with Twilly scarves in the Hermes community, but I love how it looks with scarves and bags of all brands. If you have a warm weather trip coming up, I find it especially cute on a straw or woven bag.
If the bag has double handles like my Longchamp tote below, you can tie it on just one handle or use two scarves for both. This navy silk scarf was vibrant and good quality and for the price, and affordable enough if you need to buy two of the same (also love how the colorful Longchamp bag looks in the reviewer photo!)!
This Stance bag from the minimal Hong Kong label Cafuné was a recent gift, and my first impression was that it is really beautiful and well made. It feels like a less formal, modern and lighter weight version of my Kelly bag with the similar top handle satchel shape I love. I haven’t had the chance to use my Cafuné bag much yet, but if there’s any interest I’m happy to do a review after I take it out more.
Jumping back to scarf styling – there’s many different scarf wrapping methods, but this is how I usually do it to end up with 2 tail ends that are the same length. You can also check my how-to video on IG!
- Fold the scarf in half to find the midpoint
- Hold the midpoint of the scarf up to the middle of the purse handle
- Begin wrapping in one direction
- Tie a knot at the base of the handle
- + 6. Repeat on the other side
