Growing up in an immigrant household, Disney movies were one of the few connections I had to American pop culture. I still remember what a treat it was when Dad stopped by Blockbuster for a VHS (!) rental on Friday nights, and occasionally splurged to buy the ones I’d binge on like Beauty & the Beast and The Little Mermaid. It’s been fun introducing Nori to some of my favorite classics, but as we explain the storylines to her we always try to highlight the kindness and courage of each princess above her magical circumstances.
We’ve been longtime fans of Janie and Jack for their gorgeous, high quality pieces, so are excited to partner with them on the launch of their new Disney Princess inspired collection featuring Tiana, Arielle, Cinderella, and Belle! We love that this collection celebrates the princess qualities in everyone and features such an inclusive campaign. We chose Cinderella because we’re definitely trying to emphasize kindness lately, plus Nori is a little animal lover and couldn’t get enough of Jaq and Gus whenever they were on screen (hopefully their chipper attitude toward helping out with chores rubs off on her too!).
Cinderella Smocked Ruffle Dress
A fun princess-inspired dress for everyday play! Made of 100% cotton and fully lined, this one is stretchy at the waist and comfortable for all day play. This one has whimsy in the print and can easily be paired with leggings and sneakers for a trip to the park.
Cinderella Tulle Dress
This is a beautifully made, satin and tulle gown with lots of layers in it, but is still lightweight and comfortable enough for little ones to run around and dance in. The detailing and quality of this dress are gorgeous for wedding celebrations and special events, but I also love how it’s styled online with high top sneakers and a baseball cap, allowing little ones to show off their own style and flair with this dress.
Thank you to Janie and Jack for partnering on this post. You can check out the Disney Princess collection here!
