I wasn’t ready for it just yet, but it’s officially sweater and jacket weather here in Boston! I’m transitioning some favorite pieces from summer (like these linen blend pants and silk slip skirt) by pairing them with more Fall-weight fabrics and knits.
Most of these looks also feature my mini Edited Pieces reversible belt, which just got fully restocked in both colors! Since I get this question often, I reach for my original 30mm wide belt more with denim (or loose pants that need a functional belt to make the waist fit tighter), and I prefer the narrower 17mm wide Mini belt as a subtle accent piece with skirts, dresses, or trousers.
Wide leg crops + monochromatic layers
As mentioned in a recent post, I had already been a longtime fan of J.Crew’s Sydney pant style in their cotton fabric, but this latest version in a 4-season fabric is just *chef’s kiss. The fabric feels high quality, is smooth and comfy for wearing all day, and the fit is great on me with no waist gap (runs smaller than Ann Taylor pants). My waist is 25″ and I can do 00P in this for a snug waist fit, or 0P for some more room at the waist.
Slip skirt + Looser knit top
Although I mentioned in this post that I wear my The Drop slip skirt more since the poly fabric is thicker and lower maintenance, I’ve yet to find a color as gorgeous as this Champagne silk on the Quince one. It’s elegant and soft paired with cream, and also beautiful with earthier Fall tones like taupe, deeper browns, olive, and navy.
Crop Bomber Jacket + Trousers
This jacket might be my favorite kids department find to date! I hope some of you were able to grab this from my Instagram stories last week when it was fully stocked. I’ve been hunting for this particular crop bomber style, and had to do kids in order to get a length this cropped. I also love this jacket with jeans and Adidas sneakers, or this black mini skirt (0 Petite fits me perfectly).
Sweater Jacket + Breezy Pants
If you’re in a warmer climate, these breezy pants would still be great for Fall paired with a lightweight knit. If the linen-blend fabric on the Z supply pants feel too summery for you, I’ve also worn this same outfit but with my Amazon trousers in Khaki thin fabric.
Plaid blazer + trouser jeans
This outfit is a repeat from a few months back since I love the look and clean lines so much. These exact trouser jeans seem sold out in Petites, but another similar pair that I tried on in Petite sizing with good reviews are these J.Crew trouser jeans which have a slightly wider leg fit.
